Yicheng Li
Yicheng is a fourth-year PhD candidate in Environmental Engineering, with a research focus on turbulence simulation within the atmospheric boundary layer, exploring land-air interactions and canopy flow. His work involves leveraging high-performance computing (HPC) through CPU/GPU parallelization to solve fluid flow in initial value problems (IVPs). Yicheng has previously served as a reader for ECI 100 and ECI 115, where his expertise in coding has been instrumental in supporting students. With proficiency in Python and MATLAB, along with skills in C/C++ and Fortran, Yicheng is enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge and experience in environmental fluid dynamics to help fellow students succeed.
Lin Huang
Lin is a fifth-year PhD candidate in Geotechnical Engineering, having earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from UC Davis. His research centers on the behavior of anchor foundations for offshore floating wind turbines. Lin has taken various engineering courses, including ENG 35, ENG 104, and ECI 171, during his undergraduate studies at UCD, and served as a teaching assistant and grader for those courses. This experience, combined with his expertise in geotechnical research, enables him to support students in their academic pursuits effectively. Lin is excited to provide help on ENG 35, ENG 104, ECI 171, and other geotechnical topics. He looks forward to sharing his knowledge and passion for the subject to help fellow students succeed.
Tutoring Services and Study Centers
LEADR Student Center
The LEADR Student Center is open to any student who supports diversity and inclusion in the field of engineering, and who shares a willingness to create a welcoming environment for all students. This dedicated study space allows students to study individually or in groups. Engineering community building is also encouraged.
Location: 1050 Kemper Hall
Hours (academic year): Mondays through Thursdays, 10 AM to 8 PM, and Fridays, 10 AM to 4 PM
Hours (summer): Mondays through Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM
Engineering Student Design Center
Also commonly known as the ESDC, the Engineering Student Design Center is the university’s primary manufacturing shop for the numerous student teams and research groups within the College of Engineering. Check out the calendar for open lab hours!
