Which Advising Should I Attend?

Drop-In Advising

Major Advisors

During peak periods, drop-in advising with a major advisor is limited to 5–10 minutes per student.

  • Quick questions
  • Brief guidance
  • Simple major-related inquiries

Peer Advisors

  • Guidance for students unsure where to go or who to ask (available to all students)
  • Major change to Civil or Environmental Engineering 
  • Academic plan development & General Education support
  • ECI course selection assistance
  • Study plan guidance
  • CEE minor options exploration

Mandatory Advising

  • Annual mandatory advising requirement
  • Designated quarter availability by admit year
  • CEE advising required to remove your hold
  • Academic plan revision

Major Advisor Appointments

  • Year-round availability (includes Summer, Winter Break, and Spring Break)
  • Eligibility for registered Civil and Environmental Engineering majors

Support includes:

  • Academic plan revision & General Education support
  • Major graduation checks
  • Academic plan revision
  • Academic plans for dismissal appeals
  • Complex or urgent situation assistance
  • Aggie Advising for incoming students during the summer

College of Engineering Undergraduate Office (EUO) – College Advisors

College Advisors are available through the appointment system OR Express Advising.

College advisors and college peer advisors are available for Express Advising Monday–Friday.

College advisors can support with:

  • Late dropping a course
  • General education requirements
    • Bring your pre-filled Major GE Chart
  • Career, major, and minor exploration
  • College or university petitions
  • Academic probation and subject to dismissal statuses
  • Retroactive changes
  • Readmission/Withdrawal
  • Transfer evaluation, credit, course equivalencies
  • Minimum progress
  • Concurrent/Simultaneous enrollment
  • Pre-graduate advising
