Aggie Advising for New CEE Students

Welcome to Civil & Environmental Engineering!

Welcome, new Aggies! This page is designed to ensure our incoming students are aware of their next steps in the orientation process. Please read through all of the information on this page prior to contacting a CEE Advisor.

Please be sure to view all important dates and deadlines for orientation below before proceeding:

Aggie Orientation 2024: Dates & Deadlines

Step 0: Placement Exams (First Years)

All incoming first year students planning to major in Civil or Environmental Engineering must take their math and chemistry placement exams. Placement exam scores will tell you which math and chemistry classes to register for in the Fall quarter. Generally, it is recommended that CEE students take MAT 21A and CHE 2A in their first quarter.

Missed your placement exam?

There will be another round of placement exams available in the beginning of September. Until then, please register for the recommended courses until a placement is determined. Students who do not score high enough on the placements will need to register for preparatory courses instead to ensure a strong foundation in math and chemistry concepts for the major.
