Please check your personal and UC Davis email accounts regularly through the summer and academic year, as important communications from the CEE Department and the College of Engineering are sent via email.

Committed to CEE at UCDavis? Follow All Steps Below

Step 0: UCDavis Email & Placement Exams (First Years)

All incoming students should create a UC Davis email account and check it regularly throughout the summer and during their entire undergraduate experience.

Incoming first year (high school admits) students planning to major in Civil or Environmental Engineering must take their math and chemistry placement exams. Placement exam scores will tell you which math and chemistry classes to register for in the Fall quarter. Generally, it is recommended that CEE students take MAT 21A and CHE 2A in their first quarter.

Missed your placement exam?

There will be another round of placement exams available in the beginning of September. Until your placement is determined, please register for the recommended courses listed as indicated in STEP 2.
