UC Davis Chancellor May Tours Center for Geotechnical Modeling
Professor Ross Boulanger and the rest of the team at the CGM were thrilled to have UC Davis Chancellor Gary May tour the Center for Geotechnical Modeling.
The Center for Geotechnical Modeling (CGM) at UC Davis provides users access to world-class geotechnical modeling facilities, including 9-m and 1-m radius centrifuges with shaking tables, to enable major advances in the ability to predict and improve the performance of soil and soil-structure systems affected by earthquake, wave, wind and storm surge loadings.
Professor Boulanger would like to give special thanks to the OSU team (Maggie Exton, Samuel Harry, and Rachel Ibrahim-Watkins) for describing their tsunami modeling equipment on the 9-m radius centrifuge, the LEAP researchers (Trevor Carey, Nicholas Stone, and Anthony Santana with Bruce Kutter) for describing the LEAP project and their tests on the 1-m radius centrifuge, and Sumeet Kumar Sinha for describing his upcoming pile foundation tests for Caltrans with Bruce Kutter and Katerina Ziotopoulou.
