Steps to Meet Your Mandatory Advising Requirement
*Returning Students & Change of Major (Non-CEE Students)
- Returning Students: Meet with a Major Advisor
- Returning students are students that were dismissed by the University and do not have access to the appointment system.
You will need to complete your Mandatory Advising prior to your returning quarter. Please contact us at civiladvising@ucdavis.edu and let us know that you are a returning student requesting an appointment with a Major Advisor. This appointment will fulfill your Mandatory Advising requirement. After you have returned, please follow your designated quarter/process.
Prior to your meeting with the major advisor, feel welcome to create and save an academic plan for your next 6 upcoming quarters in OASIS, make sure to title it "Returning - Academic Plan".

NOTE: Do not submit your academic plan—just save it. If you have already submitted it, please cancel the submission. Major advisor will revise and submit your plan for approval. - Change of Major (Non-CEE Students): Meet with Peer Advisors
- You are not required to complete Mandatory Advising until you are officially in the major. However, while you are working toward meeting the change of major requirements, we strongly recommend connecting with our Peer Advisors regularly—at least twice during the academic year. If your change of major process is or becomes complex, the Peer Advisors will connect you with a Major Advisor.
You can create and save an academic plan for your next six quarters in OASIS. Be sure to title it "Change of Major – Academic Plan. Once completed, bring your plan to the Peer Advisors for review.

NOTE: Do not submit your academic plan—just save it in OASIS. If you have already submitted it, please cancel the submission. If your current Major Advisor or Athlete Advisor requires an approved academic plan from a CEE Major Advisor, please inform the Peer Advisor so they can notify the Major Advisors accordingly.
SENIORS
- STEP 1: Create a Senior Graduation Academic Plan
- Create and save a graduation academic plan on OASIS, make sure it includes all your remaining quarters and to title it "Senior - Graduation Plan".

FIRST YEAR TRANSFER STUDENTS
- STEP 1: Create a Graduation Academic Plan
- Note: If you do not have a completed IGETC, we strongly recommend meeting with an advisor from the Engineering Undergraduate Office (EUO) prior to meeting with your major advisor. EUO advisors can help you understand which general education requirements you still need to complete and the best timeline for doing so. College Advisors are available through the appointment system OR Express Advising.

FIRT YEAR STUDENTS

- ♦ First-year students must register for and attend one of the sessions listed below - all sessions will cover the same content.
♦ Fall Registration are available below, Winter Sessions will become available at the beginning of Winter.
♦ Each session is limited to 8 students and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Make-up sessions will not be offered, so please be sure to attend a session between Fall 2025 Week 3 and Winter 2026 Week 5.
♦ If you can no longer attend the session you registered for, please cancel your registration before signing up for a new one. This allows other students the opportunity to attend.
